Inspiration: AMAs 2016

The 2016 American Music Awards are still underway, and while we can’t wait to hear the rest of tonight’s winners, we’re obsessing over something else entirely: the red carpet looks! While the AMA dress code tends to be more risqué than that of other awards, there were some seriously remarkable dresses tonight that we just couldn’t help but put them on our Pinterest boards and share these looks with you. Also, keep in mind that some dresses are not in the traditional bridal white color, so just use your imagination and envision the more colorful looks in white, ivory, cream, blush, or whatever shade you prefer your wedding dress to be in. So without further ado, here are our favorite looks from the 2016 AMAs:

As one of tonight’s co-hosts, we didn’t expect anything less from Gigi Hadid, but she really got everyone’s attention when she walked the red carpet in a off-the-shoulder gown by Roberto Cavalli. She looked like the boho bride of our dreams, with the dress giving serious bridal vibes with its sheer lace panels and extra-long sheer sleeves.

Selena Gomez looked every inch the sophisticate in a red sleeveless ballgown by Prada. She finished off her minimal look with diamond drop earrings, neutral makeup, and kept her hair in a neat and simple ponytail. While a red gown doesn’t exactly scream wedding dress, try imagining it in white and you’ll see what we mean!

TV host Chelsea Briggs looked pretty in a simple white knee-length dress with lace long sleeves and a lace turtleneck. Paired with nude peep toe pumps and a loose side braid, her look would be perfect for a civil wedding.

YouTube star Lauren Elizabeth looked chic in one of this year’s hottest trends: the ’90s inspired slip dress. Clad in a simple white silk slip dress with a thigh high slit, she kept the rest of her look minimal with clear strappy heels and layered necklaces.

Lady Gaga looked every inch the elegant star in her tailored white pantsuit by Brandon Maxwell, which she paired with a wide-brimmed white hat and rosy lips. While her look was more of a political rather than a fashion statement, we believe that suits for brides are totally cool and fashion forward, and with jumpsuits all over the Fall 2017 bridal catwalks, we predict that the white pantsuit will be making its trip down the aisle in the very near future.
