Real Wedding: Christy & Ben

We’re absolutely blown away by Christy & Ben’s natural wedding in The Morton Arboretum, Lisle IL which will give you all the lush greenery inspirations. Not only because of the undeniably lovely natural beauty, but also the Christy’s sweetest bridal look in a mermaid lace style could ever ask for. Stay a little longer if you’re a fan of a large outdoor wedding filled with so much greenery. It’s gonna be worth it!

Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Don’t sweat the details. At the end of the day, you are marrying your person – that’s all that matters! You won’t remember the exact shade of Navy your bridesmaids wore or the precise arrangement of the decorations but you will remember how you feel surrounded by your loved ones. Take a deep breath and really feel every moment – try to be aware of every second and cement those memories in your heart.

Q: What about your love story

We met online in June 2011 and exchanged long messages before finally going on our first date that November. We fell in love over games of Uno and Sorry!, trips to the zoo, and binge-watching David Attenborough specials late into the night. Ben can make me laugh harder than any other human in history.
Lucky for me, I got my second chance. Ben took the leap and moved out to California, and ten months later he proposed on a beautiful October day on the beach.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We love the natural world. I wanted our venue to be in a place of natural beauty and the Arboretum has been a special place for me my whole life.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

Yes and No. I loved coming up with creative ideas and making it “us” but a lot of it was super stressful! Tracking down vendors and comparing prices and signing contracts and putting together every last tiny detail got super overwhelming. By the end of the planning process I just wanted to let someone else do the planning so I could enjoy my day and my new husband – after all, that’s the only thing that matters

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

Our first look! I remember waiting in this beautiful green path, knowing any minute the love of my life would be walking up behind me, and I was so full of emotion. I was giggling uncontrollably, crying, smiling my face off and nervously shaking…and then I turned around and there he was. It was perfect. That joy and excitement is a feeling I will never forget.

Q: What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?

How unique it was! I added my own customizations so there’s no other dress like it. It was perfect for me and made me feel SO beautiful.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody and the customer service?

I am blown away by the quality of my gown compared to the price. Everyone I worked with was so nice and incredibly accommodating. There was a bit of an alterations snafu right before we were supposed to move to Tennessee, and I was panicking!
The Cocomelody team quickly took updated measurements, got my new address, and promised to waive shipping costs so they could get my dress to me at my new address. They even assured me that I could Skype when I tried it on and ship it back if there were any other problems. It made a stressed out bride feel SO much calmer! I definitely felt very taken care of.
