Real Wedding: Erin & Thomas

Erin and Thomas were married in South Carolina on October 7th, 2017. They didn’t have an exact theme but did a few things they liked and it just happened to go well together. Erin was an absolute vision in her dream #cocomelodydress in shade of grey! Congratulations on these 2 lovebirds and wish them a happy and long marriage life!

Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Relax. I know it is so much easier said than done. But, things can, and will go wrong. The weather will say clear and warm, but it pours rain the entire time. Have a backup plan, but don’t worry so much about the little things, otherwise, you won’t enjoy planning the wedding.

Q: What about your love story

Thomas and I met in 2013 on OK-cupid, before he had to move 700 miles away to go to graduate school. We had a lot in common and decided to just be friends, and picked a day the meet. When the meeting occurred, we realized it would be hard to try to be friends because there was an instant connection. For the first two year of our relationship we were 700 miles apart, we would Skype nightly and visit during holiday breaks. Finally we both finished college, and got careers in the same city and we moved in together, then after a year, we went on a date to a city we haven’t yet been, he told me ” I don’t have a ring yet, but this is the spot I want to propose to you, am I good for it?”. A year and a half later we had a private ceremony just us and our son.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We didn’t have a theme. Or maybe? We told people our theme was “Us” because we could not find a theme that suited us. Everything was too laid rustic or too glam and we are inbetweeners. We were on a beach so we had a bit of dark navy to tie in the nautical without feeling too beachy. For our table numbers we had “wedding-ish” movie, television quotes, and poems that we both enjoyed. and since we got married in early October but had the reception in late October, we had a little bit of Halloween. So the inspiration was us.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

Honestly, I hated it. I am one to stress about everything. My husband calls me “The Worrier” I wanted everything to be perfect, and would get upset when it wasn’t turning out perfect. I realized I am not great at crafts.

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

There were so many. Saying my vows and trying not to cry, Being driven to our hotel for the night and the guest clapping and cheering as we walked in. Eating fast food in our wedding attire because we were starving after the ceremony. At the reception the most memorable thing was dancing with my son to the song he requested by the DJ. My Matron of Honor taught him how to spin a girl while dancing, so they practiced until he felt ready and requested his favorite Bon Jovi song to show off his moves.

Q:  What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?

Everything. It was so comfortable and fit perfectly. I loved the soft gray tulle and the way it flowed and moved. I have nothing negative to say about the wedding dress. It was beyond my expectations.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody and the customer service?

It was fantastic. I found a dress I liked, but I wanted to change a few things and I sent a message to the Cocomelody asking if it could be done, and it could for a great price.  I started getting nervous a few weeks before the wedding because the dress wasn’t here yet, and they quickly responded. The day after I got my “order has shipped” noticed, my dress was here. By far the best customer service I have dealt with, and would gladly order again, and recommend to all other future brides.
