Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Get your friends and family involved as much as possible. It makes your day that much more special for them, and keeps your budget down. Mark is a chef, and a friend that he helped launch his catering business, catered our wedding for us. This played a big part in our venue choice because not all venues let you bring your caterer of choice, but it was worth it because the food was amazing, and he was happy to provide it at cost for his good friend. We each have a daughter from our first marriage, and they helped by performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for my bridal march. My twin brother officiated our wedding and wrote the most incredible ceremony and vows for us and our daughters. There wasn’t a dry eye there by the end of it, and even our daughters were touched FAR MORE than they’d expected. My aunts, bridesmaids and mother-in-law helped to arrange my flowers, so they loved seeing how they brought the venue to life the day of. It was such a labor of love to bring it all together, everyone felt that much more connected to us and our magical day!

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

Mark proposed on a hot air balloon, and having been a Wizard of Oz fan from a young age, my mind went directly to “Over the Rainbow.” With the help of my bridesmaids, close friends, and family we created the decor ourselves! Everything came out even better than I’d envisioned, and the theme truly embodied the way we “feel like home” to each other.

Q: Tell us your love story! Where & How did he propose?

We met online, on okcupid. I was a seasoned veteran on the site, but Mark had just joined, and I was his first and only date from the site! We both were in a place where we knew what we were looking for in a partner and a relationship and agreed on so many things from the beginning. We showed up in a completely authentic way, being honest about our intentions but without expectations. This was so attractive to us both, and we pretty much knew from the start that we’d found something special!

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

Exchanging vows with each other and with our daughters was the best/most memorable part of the ceremony because our daughters got to be a part of it and they were so emotional about it. Since our decision to marry impacts them as well, we wanted to include vows and rings for them too. They both have grown up as only children and have longed for siblings. Now they have become sisters and gained a parent! We hope to grow our family in the near future, and give them a baby brother and/or sister to bond us all together even more!

Q: Where did you hear/find CocoMelody?

I found CocoMelody through a FB ad, I believe. We had decided on our date long before Mark even proposed, so being eager to start planning, I began looking online for inexpensive gowns. I was super impressed by the styles and all the positive reviews! We had been invited to a friend’s wedding in Long Beach in July of 2019, so I booked an appointment at the L.A. showroom for the time we were there. My twin brother lives in Oakland, so he and his girlfriend drove down to see us and come to my appointment with me to help find my dream dress!

Q: What did you love most about your #CocoMelody dress (es)?

I LOVED the fit and the quality for the amazing price! I loved the geometric design in the lace. I’m not a fan of floral lace, so with this wedding dress, you get the romance and elegance of lace while still being unique and modern. I LOVED that it is encrusted in sequins. It makes it look so sparkling and almost liquid in person. Pictures don’t quite do it justice! The overskirt of this design is a nice touch of drama, but since I was completely in love with the shape of this dress, I didn’t want to cover it with the skirt. Instead, I used the overskirt as a cape, and wore it only for some dramatic pictures.

Q: What do you think about CocoMelody and the customer service?

I HIGHLY recommend CocoMelody! The quality is amazing. The service is top notch. Shipping was super fast and I LOVED the garment bag it came in because it made it super easy to keep my dress stowed away and out of sight from my husband. There are so many options to choose from, and now that they offer the try at home option, you really can’t go wrong!
