Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Take it all in! The day takes forever to plan but is over so quickly, make sure you make time to sit down with your new Husband and take in the moment.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We wanted something different, non-traditional and “us”, when we first walked into our wedding venue we knew it was the one. It was urban and modern and we were able to create our dream wedding. My main inspiration was winter colours – burgundy navy and rose gold, urban scapes (lots of brick) and lush greenery and florals to tie everything together. We also had relaxed sit down feasting for dinner and a donut wall and our amazing cake for dessert, it was perfectly us.

Q: Tell us your love story! Where & How did he propose?

We met in 2014 on a dating app, we had our first date just a few weeks later and we both knew it was meant to be. We moved 12 hours away from our home town together to attend university just a few short months later and have never looked back. We were both university students when Andrew proposed, we had been together for 2 years. It was a gloomy Tuesday and we finished our classes, and he suggested we head down to the Marina for a drive, which was not uncommon. We arrived and walked out to the tip of the breakwater, and even though it was a cloudy and rainy day we had views out to the Whitsunday Islands. Andrew was being a bit funny, asking me lots of questions and after I turned around from taking photos there he was on one knee. I said Yes! of course and now here we are.

Q: How would you define the message “Dare to Love”?

Dare to go beyond, step out of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to fall in love. It’s one of the toughest but most rewarding adventures of life.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

Yes! I planned the entire wedding myself – 12 hours away from where we were having it! I really enjoyed picking all the elements, my dress, the cake the colours, but I did not enjoy not being able to meet all my suppliers and trying to communicate my vision through email until I met them 2 weeks before the wedding. In saying that, all my suppliers, family and bridal party were AMAZING, completely understood what we wanted and helped me pull together our dream wedding.

Q: What was your hubby’s reaction when he first saw you on your big day?

He happy cried. It was such an emotional moment, we had “first look photos” before the wedding and he had no idea what my dress was going to look like, that I was having a flower crown and it was really nice to see his reaction and share that moments together.

Q: What did you love most about your #CocoMelody dress (es)?

It was exactly what I had been looking for! It was really had trying to find a long sleeve wedding dress and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. The beading on the bodice and the detail on the sleeves is so beautiful and I loved the shape and the flowing skirt.

Q: What do you think about CocoMelody and the customer service?

Nothing short of excellent. CocoMelody was amazing, double checking my measurements and keeping me updated on how my dress was progressing – it even arrived a week earlier than expected! I could not fault their service.
