Inspiration: Most Unique Wedding Venues

Wedding Planning | By:cocomelody

Saying your “I Dos” to the love of your life is already one of the most romantic prospects ever, but imagine doing so in some of the most exotic and unique locations in the world. While we love the idea of getting married on the most pristine beaches in Hawaii or hosting a winter reception at a five-star luxury resort in Aspen, we’re talking about the ultimate destination weddings to places we’ve only dared to dream about and countries on our bucket list. And since it’s Valentines Day, we’re allowed to daydream all day and pretend that factors such as wedding budgets don’t matter! So grab a glass of wine, lean back, relax, and transport yourself to these gorgeous locations:

Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, Colombia

Located about 50km from Bogotá, the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá is a stunning underground church constructed out of the tunnels of a former salt mine. Considered a place of pilgrimage in Colombia, it is located over 500 feet below ground and can hold about 3,000 people for Sunday mass. Inside the cathedral you will find various salt and marble sculptures, the Brine Museum, an auditorium, a convention center, and a food hall that can hold over 300 people (wedding reception, anyone?)

Into the Glacier, Iceland

What better way to experience what it was like to be in the Ice Age than to go inside a jaw-dropping glacier in Iceland? One of the largest glaciers in the world, Into the Glacier is a 500-meter long man-made ice tunnel in Langjökull featuring frozen caverns, ice formations, sitting areas, and a wedding chapel. Undoubtedly one of the coolest venues (literally speaking, the average temperature inside is 0°C/32°F) weddings are officiated here but only a maximum of 80 people are allowed at one time.

Callao Cave, Philippines

Callao Cave is an underground limestone cave in Peñablanca, Cagayan. Consisting of seven chambers named after distinct rock formations, the main attraction and most popular chamber is undoubtedly the Chapel, which features a small chapel ideal for special occasion masses and weddings. The only source of light comes from an empty gap on the top of the cave, which allows impressive views of the natural beauty of the cave.

Ristorante Grotta Palazzese Cave Restaurant, Italy

Grotta Palazzese is a gorgeous restaurant built inside a limestone cave in Southern Italy. Boasting the most scenic views over the Adriatic Sea and world-class cuisine, the restaurant is located 74 feet above sea level and is only open during the summer months. For those who love their history, local nobility during the 1700s used to hold banquets at this very restaurant!
