Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?
Allow other people to be part of the process. It’s okay to delegate and ask for help. People close to you will want to be part of your process. You are not a burden.
Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?
I wanted as many personal touches as possible. All of our decorations were hand made and made with love by our friends and family, and it turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I wanted the space to be personal and “us” and that was definitely achieved – both sentimentally and aesthetically.
Q: Tell us your love story! Where & How did he propose?
We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party and we hit it off immediately. We were in conversation for hours – ranging from the topics of our favorite animal to our personal experiences with our faith, and we just connected deeply right away. He asked for my number and things took off from there. We were in a four-hour distance relationship for four years before we moved to the same city. He proposed about seven months later in the Carlsbad Flower Fields, and ten months later, we got married in front of our family and friends.
Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?
Walking into the reception for our grand entrance is definitely a highlight for both of us. Our guests were deafening as they cheered for us and the energy was so high, and we were just so incredibly happy. Shortly after, I (Elaine) got to announce that my mom and Gero’s mom were cancer-free (we found out the news about my mom the night BEFORE the wedding) and there was just such tangible joy in the room. It was the best wedding present we could have ever asked for.
Q: What did you love most about your Cocomelody dress?
The quality of the dress is unparalleled for the price. I was comfortable, the dress was breathable, danceable, and I felt beautiful in it. The details on the dress are gorgeous, and the dress is just timeless. To me, it was an obvious choice.
