Real Wedding: Myriam & Felipe

Myriam & Felipe tied the knot at the Citadelle de Québec where Felipe’s parents were married. They didn’t really had a theme, they thought the decor and charm of the Citadelle would be enough (the church is an old gunpowder magazine). They also had a color, navy blue and asked people to wear blue if they could, but didn’t insist. And their beautiful wedding cake was also in white and blue!

Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

The only advice I have is about the wedding planning: do as you like, it’s your day, not anybody else’s. Don’t do something you don’t want to, just to please your aunt or grandmother.

Q: How did you meet? And where did he propose?

My husband and I met at the pub where I worked about 2 years ago. After 1 year, we started talking about marriage. Last december, he got his promotion, and we decided to get married before moving to Ontario. We kinda took the decision together.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We didn’t really had a theme, we thought the decor and charm of the Citadelle would be enough (the church is an old gunpowder magazine). We had a color, navy blue. We asked people to wear blue if they could, but we didn’t insist. We wanted to let people wear what they wanted (except white of course). The cake was white and blue.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

I did enjoy the planning process, but there wasn’t much to decide. I only had one bridesmaid so I let her decide the color of her dress. Felipe and I chose the invitations together, we did the cake tasting, which was the best part of the planning, and I had to choose my dress and my father’s suit. One of our friends did the catering, my husband is half mexicain so we had a taco bar, and my mother baked a tourtière, a traditional meal from Lac St-Jean, where I’m from.

Q: What’s your hubby’s reaction when he first saw you on your big day?

When Feli saw me, he cried.

Q: What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?

What I loved the most about my wedding dress is the quality and the design. The lace and the open back between the shoulders were gorgeous, and the length was perfect.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody?

I think Cocomelody is the best choice for a wedding dress. You guys make such amazing dresses, your customer service is quick and efficient  and we can tell your customers are important to you. I requested that you remove the bow on the dress and you did it without hesitation. When I tried my dress for the first time, I was so happy! You did an amazing job!
