Real Wedding: Sophie & Chris

New Zealand Weddings Real Weddings | By:cocomelody

Sophie & Chris had a classic, classy and a touch royal vintage wedding in Taupo Yacht Club, New Zealand. They don’t have an exact wedding theme, but only with pops of navy and burgundy for the color palette. And I believe that Sophie’s special way to honor her mother could be one of the most memorable parts of the day!

Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs?

Don’t stress on the day! Just relax and enjoy every moment – It goes quickly! Also go somewhere public on the day, everyone loves to see a bride and groom all dressed up!

Q: How did you meet? And where did he propose?

We met at a bible study in Hamilton – His best friend ran it and he came along on free days. He tried to ask me out once but I didn’t know he was trying to ask me out and said I was tired! And then he asked me out for a coffee and a 5-hour walk later, we knew we had chemistry! He proposed at Whakamoenga (fa ka mow eng (like the end of sing) a) point, acacia bay, Taupo. My family went on a walk and a picnic out there and Chris pulled my down the jetty and we read a kid’s book called “I got you some kisses” and then he proposed!

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

I enjoyed certain points and elements like setting up and seeing all of the creations come into use, but I didn’t like the drawn out stress of getting everything together… Even though I only planned for 6months (how could you plan for longer!?)

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

Nothing really. I just love classic, classy and Navy/Burgundy winter colours!

Q: What was your hubby’s reaction when he first saw you on your big day?

He grinned and has watery eyes, we were both too excited to cry!

Q: What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?

I loved everything about my wedding dress! Everyone said it was amazing. The price you couldn’t beat. It actually looked like my mum’s dress from the 80s. I wish i could wear it again! But you only get married once to your soulmate.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody and its customer service?

Cocomelody was quick and lovely to deal with! I loved how they added sleeves to my dress and the time they took on it. My only problem was it was way longer than my measurements and we couldn’t hem the top layer because it was once piece of lace. It also didn’t come with the bustle we asked for. But anyway, didn’t ruin my day!
