Here at Cocomelody, we understand that brides come in all shapes and sizes, and we want you to look your best for your special day.

1. If your body shape is a rectangle, then your shoulders, waist, and hips are pretty much in a straight line. You’ll want to create the illusion of curves, so dresses that would look best on you include the A-line, sheath, and empire styles. A-line wedding dresses can help create an hourglass shape, sheath gowns will accentuate your lean frame, and empire cuts will create a defined waist.

2. If you’re apple-shaped, you have full breasts and little waist definition. Dress styles that would flatter you most are ball gowns, A-line and drop-waist gowns, since you want to create an elongating silhouette. The best neckline for you would be a deep V-neck as it draws attention away from the waist while flattering your bust.

3. If you’re pear-shaped, you have a small upper body and a larger lower body, with your hips wider than your shoulders. The most flattering silhouettes for you would be either an A-line or a ball gown since they balance out your torso and your bust. A V-neckline or dresses with spaghetti straps would also have a slenderizing effect.

4. For those with an hourglass shape, your shoulders and hips are similar in size and you have a small waist, sheath, ball gown and mermaid wedding dresses would be the most flattering for you since you would want to show off your curves. Scooped necklines and sweetheart necklines will look great on you and will show off your décolletage while minimizing cleavage.

Lastly, for inverted triangle body types, your shoulders are wider than your waist and hips. To balance out your frame, a mermaid/trumpet, short dress, or ball gown would look best on you. Also, try going for a strapless or halter neckline to create the illusion of narrower shoulders.
