Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Everyone told me that the day would go fast, but I didn’t really take much notice, however, trust me – it really does go in the blink of an eye, take a moment to step back and take it all in, and don’t stress the small stuff.

Q: Tell us your love story! Where & How did he propose?

We were on holiday for a destination wedding, unknown to me Eric took my Dad aside and asked for his blessing. We then spent two weeks traveling around Thailand, on our last day in Phuket we had a boat trip out to a secluded beach, Eric had planned to propose on the beach, but the weather turned and the boat we were on was unable to dock, instead that evening he got down on one knee and proposed in the pouring rain on the terrace of our hotel room. It was perfect!

Q: How would you define the message ” Dare to Love”?

Dare to love, be open, don’t give in to preconceived ideas of who your ideal partner will be or where you will find them, and don’t close yourself off to love if you have been hurt in the past. Take a chance on happiness.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

We first met at Uluru where we were both working, and after taking a year out from the desert for the birth of our daughter, decided to make the move back here. I had always wanted a rustic wedding, and the camel farm where I work, with the beautiful view of Uluru, was the perfect canvas.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?

Yes and no, yes, because I have a background in wedding planning, and enjoy organizing events.

No, because our location had a few challenges and very limited options for catering and suppliers, unfortunately, a couple of suppliers let us down close to the day, which caused unnecessary stress. In the end, I had to just let go and roll with it, not everything was exactly as I had planned, but the day was perfect – I got to marry Eric, and that is all that matters.

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

Our 2.5-year-old daughter was our ring bearer, it was a small way that we could include her in our ceremony, watching her come up the sand dune with the ring box was just gorgeous, she was so excited to be part of it all.

Q: What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?

It was so comfortable to wear my wedding dress, beautiful, high-quality material, it was heavy and at first, I worried that in the heat of the desert I would melt, but once it was on I didn’t even notice the weight. I added a short train and am so glad I did, it was perfect.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody and the customer service?

Cocomelody was great right from the start. I had narrowed my selection to two dresses and had some customization questions, Cocomelody’s responses were quick and thorough.
When the dress arrived there were some issues with the custom measurements and it was too small in some places, but Cocomelody sent out some extra material so I could have it altered. My dressmaker that did the alterations was so impressed with the material and the quality of the dress.
