Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?
For us ladies, weddings are the most special day of our lives. We want to look beautiful on that day and have our surroundings decorated with the most beautiful flowers. We should still keep in mind though, that this is only one day of our lives. Spending too much without leaving some for your future is a big No No. Try to stay within your budget while still keeping track of what you want your wedding day to look like. My hubby and I chose to invest on a good photographer though. Since they are the ones who will be capturing the memories, don’t hesitate to spend money on them. Beautiful pictures and videos can make the simplest weddings look amazing.

Q: How did you meet? And where did he propose?
It was 7 years ago, we worked together at a Korean English school. The first time I saw him, I thought of him as this arrogant man who’s full of himself. I was wrong. He was very kind to me; offering to help me learn how to do our job better. One time, he even carried my food platter in the cafeteria. Soon enough, we fell in love for each other and started dating. Our relationship was like a roller coaster ride, but, we were able to get through the ups and especially the downs.

Last year, my hubby’s company sent him to go to India for training. He asked me if I wanted to go Hong Kong before going back to the Philippines. I agreed. In Hong Kong, while we were going home from Disneyland, he told me to choose a ring from the Pandora store. He told me that he would be giving it to me as our engagement ring. Unfortunately, it did not fit me but we were able to buy a ring the next day before our flight. It wasn’t your usual fancy type of proposal, but still, it’s one memory we will never ever forget.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?
We chose a religious wedding as our theme as we believe that in order to have a successful and happy marriage; we must put God at the center. We felt that having the ceremony in a church that has sentimental value to both of us and in front of God is the best way to go. One of our friends also believed in this and has sponsored the payment for the church.

With regards to the colors, our wedding theme is very simplistic. We wanted to be unique by steering away from the usual wedding colors. We chose a combination of pink, gold and gray for our colors. We saw pictures of this combination and we felt that it would look very elegant and stylistic in the photos. We were not wrong. Social media greatly helped us decide what colors would look very well for our wedding. My Maid of honor and bridesmaids wore a combination of taupe, champaign and warm taupe colors as we felt that it would greatly complement my dress. My hubby wore a dark gray suit and black tie to look classic yet elegant. His Groomsmen also wore black suites to complement his coat. My mother and his mother wore old rose colored dresses which went well with my gown.

Q: Did you enjoy the wedding planning process? Why or why not?
My hubby and I argue a lot when we were dating but when we started planning the wedding, we argue even more. Adhering to a strict budget, we decided against hiring a wedding coordinator to plan out our wedding. We did try shopping for a wedding package that we would be satisfied of, but in the end, we decided that planning the wedding ourselves would let us choose our suppliers better even if it would mean adjusting our initial budgets.

The planning itself was very stressful. Deciding on the right gown to wear and where to get it, choosing a good photographer, reception venue, florists and other suppliers that wouldn’t break the bank and planning the wedding program itself took a lot out of us. We were very lucky to find suppliers that were able to provide us the best service at an affordable price. We were also very VERY fortunate to have our friends help us with the wedding program. They became our on-the-day wedding coordinators and we could not have pulled it off without their help. The pay-off was after the reception when our photographer showed us the initial photos and videos and we did not expect that they were able to hide the flaws of our wedding.

Even if it was very stressful, we did enjoy the wedding planning and it made us closer as a couple. We enjoyed making DIY flowers and invitations. It even made me think if we can start our own Invitation printing business. We also enjoyed meeting our friends to let them know what kind of help we needed from them. It was very fulfilling for us as husband and wife to have pulled it off the way we did. And looking back, I would have not changed the way we planned our wedding for anything.

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?
The most memorable part of the day for me would be when we read our vows for each other. We were lucky enough for the priest to have us read our vows to each other as it is not being practiced much anymore. It was a very emotional moment for me having to express my feelings for the first time in front of our closest friends and relatives and in front of God. Hearing the priest say that we are now husband and wife, my heart filled with so much joy knowing that this is the end of one journey and the beginning of a bigger and better one.

Q: What did you love most about your #Cocomelody dress?
I loved the overall style and design of my wedding dress. I loved the details of the back of my dress, the lace and the beads. It looks so much more than what I paid for and really made me beautiful on my special day. The intricacy of the design at the back of my dress looks very stunning. People say that when they look at me from behind, they see someone who is hiding a special kind of beauty.

The dress truly mirrors who I am as a person; simple yet elegant.

Q: What do you think about Cocomelody and the customer service?
Throughout this wedding planning, we’ve been blessed to find great and very kind suppliers who were willing to accommodate our needs given our budget. Cocomelody is no exception. You guys have been very helpful and very responsive even after I have placed my order. It was delivered to us quickly and my hubby was surprised to see the dress already delivered to us that fast.

Overall, I was very pleased with the service that Cocomelody gave me. You are one of the reason why my wedding was made even more special.
